As a woman who has endured the divorce life and been on the chunky side, I couldn’t wait to read about Sunny’s life. The book description caught my attention. Oh boy… what a read.

Sunny side up book review by Katie Sturino, sharing life’s moments, summer vacation, book summary, novel, lifestyle inspiration.

About Sunny Side Up: A Novel Book

Sunny Greene is thirty-five, recently divorced, facing the looming prospect of going solo to her little brother’s wedding, and currently trying to find anything plus-sized in the Bergdorf Goodman swimsuit department that doesn’t make her want to cry. It’s not going well. But isn’t rock bottom the perfect place to start a climb?

She decides it’s now or never. Sunny has her PR empire, her gorgeous Chelsea apartment, her two dogs, and her loyal best friends. Maybe it’s time to just love her body and accept herself for who she is. With a new commitment to confidence, her journey begins. Who says a plus-sized divorcee can’t put herself first, feel beautiful, and date up a storm?

Of course things are never straightforward in the dating world. Is fate knocking at her door with Dennis, the charming and down-to-earth mailman, or should she be with Ted, the business tycoon who seems ready to make her size-inclusive swimsuit brand a reality? And what should she do about her ex, who shows up unexpectedly, eager to reconnect?

With the same candor and confidence her followers love, Sturino presents her debut novel and brings us Sunny Greene, a Carrie Bradshaw for the next generation. Readers will fall in love with Sunny and root for her journey through the trials and triumphs of dating, friendship, and finding yourself.

📝 My Review

Sunny Side Up is the ideal book for any curvy woman to read who is thrust back into the dating world after a divorce. It’s a fantastic, engaging read that will remind every woman she is worth something, regardless of her size! She is worth being loved and admired. There are so many parts of this book that make you feel like you’re not alone on this crazy journey to find love and not be a small woman.

She talks about what it’s like trying to get decent clothes as a plus-size woman, and the fact that she has to spend extra money to get quality clothes that make her look good and feel good. I can’t tell you the number of times I wish I could find clothes that make me feel great without breaking the bank.

I have seen plenty of outfits on Shein that do my body justice without making me rob the bank, but there’s something to be said for being able to try the clothes on in a store sometimes, too. So reading Sunny’s clothes shopping adventure made me connect with her right away, and it only grew from there.

This is one of those books that truly any woman would enjoy reading. It’s something you can devour in a short period, and it will make you want to read more from the author, for sure too.
