One of my favorite perks of having an Amazon Prime membership is getting ten books to read from a long list of popular books. Since I’ve been riding with my husband on the road a good chunk lately, I’ve had the opportunity to use this perk more. I decided to share my Prime Reading Adventures from this month with you.

About Prime Reading Membership Perk

The Prime Reading Membership Perk included with Prime allows you to have ten books out to read at a time. There are books AND magazines for all kinds of readers. I love reading my books on my iPhone, iPad, and Kindle. Regardless of which device I pick up, provided I have downloaded the book, I can pick up right where I left off.

Here are my September Prime Reading Adventures

The Bookstore Sisters: A Short Story

September Prime Reading Adventures 2September Prime Reading Adventures 3

From New York Times bestselling author Alice Hoffman comes a heartfelt short story about family, independence, and finding your place in the world.

Isabel Gibson has all but perfected the art of forgetting. She’s a New Yorker now, with nothing left to tie her to Brinkley’s Island, Maine. Her parents are gone, the family bookstore is all but bankrupt, and her sister, Sophie, will probably never speak to her again.

But when a mysterious letter arrives in her mailbox, Isabel feels herself drawn to the past. After years of fighting for her independence, she dreads the thought of going back to the island. What she finds there may forever alter her path—and change everything she thought she knew about her family, her home, and herself.

My Review

The Bookstore Sisters: A Short Story was an extremely quick read. It was the perfect read for waiting for my husband to be unloaded. It only took me about three hours (if that long) to read this short and sweet book.

The BRAND NEW psychological thriller from the #2 bestselling author of The Family at No. 12!

A darkness settles on this supposedly quiet street…

When Clare becomes a widow, her response is something that shocks her – relief. All she wants to do is move on and figure out how to continue her life, alone, no matter the guilt that brings.

So when Vic, her closest friend, comes to her, showing the signs of trouble in her own marriage, she is more than supportive in helping her leave Rob.

But Vic doesn’t get the chance to do that. Because as they go over to Vic’s house to collect her things, they find a body. Rob’s.

It appears someone else had an axe to grind. But for Clare, already reeling from secrets from her own late husband’s dark past, she’s about to find out this murder isn’t as straightforward as it may appear…

My Review

This is a thrilling book that has more than one storyline to it. Granted, the murder is important, but I feel that the story about Jed was just as intriguing, if not more so. I devoured this book with ease and quickly.
