I recently finished reading A Love Letter to Whiskey by Kandi Steiner, and let me tell you — it hit me right in the heart. This isn’t just a story about lust, longing, and heartbreak; it’s a mirror for anyone who has ever run from love, only to realize later what they left behind.
About A Love Letter to Whiskey

Of friendship that teeters on the edge of something more.
Of passion so intoxicating, it burns.Jamie and B are two hearts caught in the tangle of bad timing and unspoken words. Their connection defies labels—too deep for friendship, too tangled for love. Over a decade of moments, choices, and missed opportunities, they find themselves drawn together like a moth to a flame, even when the world—and their own mistakes—keep pulling them apart.
Is it obsession? Destiny? Or just self-destruction with a pretty face?
Sometimes, love isn’t about finding the right person—it’s about the moment when everything aligns.
But what if that moment never comes?

My Review of the A Love Letter to Whiskey Book
This book wasn’t just a steamy romance or emotional rollercoaster for me. It reminded me of my love story — the one I share with my husband.
Our journey has been anything but straightforward. We were on and off again for sixteen years before we finally reached the altar. We each went through two marriages before finding our way back to each other. Along the way, I adopted his son from his second marriage, and my ex-husband’s wife adopted my daughter from my first marriage. It’s been complicated, messy, and at times painful — but it’s also been a love story I wouldn’t trade for anything.
As I read A Love Letter to Whiskey, I couldn’t help but reflect on all the times I ran from my husband, all the years I let slip by because of my own issues — particularly my struggles rooted in childhood, my “daddy issues” that made me doubt I was worthy of the love right in front of me.
Now, as we approach seventeen years of marriage on May 21st, I’m grateful every day that we finally stopped running and chose each other for good. This book reminded me that sometimes love doesn’t follow a straight path — sometimes it takes detours, heartbreak, and a lot of personal growth before it can settle into something lasting.
I highly recommend A Love Letter to Whiskey if you love emotionally raw, beautifully written stories that embrace life’s messiness. But be warned—it may stir up more personal reflections than you expect.
Final Thoughts:
This book reminded me that the most precious love stories are often the ones we fight hardest to claim. And I’m thankful every day that my husband and I fought through it all to build the life we share now.

Wonderful, personal post. I love it when a book makes me reflect on my own experiences, especially the complicated and messy times. Thanks for sharing.
I love that feeling as well. I typically choose books and movies that I know I’ll be able to relate to a character or two in some manner. This book was a beautiful read for me.

Oh my this sounds so good! I’ve got to check this out.
It is a great read, but it’s not fully clean. There are some sex scenes in it, but not many and you can easily slide through those pages and know when they are done.
