Teaching my kids how to read has always been a sore spot in our homeschooling journey. As a result, I have used and explored using various online reading programs through the years. When we were given the chance to try Vooks reading site membership in exchange for an honest review, I wasn’t willing to pass it up.

Vooks is a website filled with many small but yet entertaining books for kids young kids up to elementary school age. The books that have been selected for the site encourage children to be kind, loving and responsible individuals.
My Review
My daughter had the pleasure of using this site with me. She found it to be full of many choices for her to watch. She is a huge fan of animals, science, and nature. She also liked how she could convince me to let her watch one more book because many of them have a short time span. The colorful animations kept her attention.
There have been many times she’s wanted to watch/read more than one book in one sitting. However, there are also times when she is definitely not in the mood. She is nine years old, and almost too old to find much enjoyment in this site’s books that it offers. Honestly, I wish VOOKS would add more books that would be directed for her age group because this is the age that all of my kids fully started to grasp learning how to read well. To have more books for her to get engaged in watching, would help me keep interested in falling in love with reading.
As a homeschooling mother, I like that there are additional resources for me to use to expand on her reading experience. There are lesson plans for many of the books they have on the site. They have even created printables for many major holidays and occasions.
