School Lunch Ideas for Picky Eaters
If you’re like me, you have to deal with extremely picky eaters! While the list above is nice, I know my kids would not like several of these options. So, I decided to go on the hunt for back-to-school lunch ideas for picky eaters too.
Tips to Get Picky Eaters to Eat More
My kids have always been picky eaters, but through the past several years I have been working diligently to get them to eat more things. These tips have helped expand their palates in our home. Hopefully, they will help you as well.
Have them help plan the menu.
One of the things I have done to improve our grocery budget is watching all of these cheap meal idea videos. I’ve recruited my kids into watching them and creating a list of meals they want to try out. So, we create a menu plan using these ideas.
Have them help cook the meals.
Kids need to know how to cook! It helps you as a parent in so many ways! But we all need to learn how to cook. Unfortunately, my mom kept me out of the kitchen, so I’m an adult that struggles with cooking. I don’t want that for my kids! Plus, when they cook the meal they are quick to want to see how well they did!
Ensure They TRY the Food
I was raised that I eat what is on my plate or I went hungry! It caused me to be leary about what I was going to eat. My mom wasn’t that good of a cook either, but she did try! I personally make my kids at least try two bites of what we make. IF I can’t stand eating what is made, then they don’t have to eat it too. But if I endure it, they do too!
Which one of these back-to-school lunch ideas would you be likely to make for your kids?
