Love & Other Words has been on my to-read list for quite a while. I have always enjoyed love stories that focus on second chances. Additionally, I've seen many people recommend this book in the Facebook book groups I'm part of.
About Love & Other Words Book

After a decade apart, childhood sweethearts reconnect by chance but how many words will it take for them to figure out where it all went wrong? From the New York Times bestselling authors of the “delightful” (Shelf Awareness) The Unhoneymooners.
The story of the heart can never be unwritten.
Macy Sorensen is settling into an ambitious if emotionally tepid routine: work hard as a new pediatrics resident, plan her wedding to an older, financially secure man, keep her head down and heart tucked away.
But when she runs into Elliot Petropoulos—the first and only love of her life—the careful bubble she’s constructed begins to dissolve. Once upon a time, Elliot was Macy’s entire world—growing from her gangly bookish friend into the man who coaxed her heart open again after the loss of her mother...only to break it on the very night he declared his love for her.
Told in alternating timelines between Then and Now, teenage Elliot and Macy grow from friends to much more—spending weekends and lazy summers together in a house outside of San Francisco devouring books, sharing favorite words, and talking through their growing pains and triumphs. As adults, they have become strangers to one another until their chance reunion. Although their memories are obscured by the agony of what happened that night so many years ago, Elliot will come to understand the truth behind Macy’s decade-long silence, and will have to overcome the past and himself to revive her faith in the possibility of an all-consuming love.

My Review of Love & Other Words
The Love & Other Words book is one of those that will stay with you long after you finish reading it. As a woman who has been blessed to reconnect with my true love and get married to him, I love a good second-chance love story.
I spent most of the time reading Love & Other Words, eager to find out what he did that was so horrible, and it started to frustrate me at one point. I felt like their reason for being separated in the first place should have been told to us sooner. Yet, in the same token, I think we would have probably lost interest too quickly had that been done. In turn, we would have lost sight of how their bond was formed and its true power.
Del and I have a long sixteen-year love story, which culminated in our marriage in 2008. It feels good knowing we've finally been back together longer than we were apart, but I still feel like I lost way too much time with him over fear.
If you like reading about how true love never fails, regardless of how you try to avoid it, then you'll have fun reading this book.

This was a really good book, I remember reading it awhile back. I always enjoy the stories where sweethearts make their way back to one another too, and love that you said you and your hubby have been together longer than apart! <3
Wishing you a wonderful week, friend!
Make Life Marvelous
I have another book that I just finished that I can’t wait to share about. I think you may have already read it based on you saying this.
I hope you have a wonderful week too.
Oooo. I like the sound of this one. I’m glad you said you had to keep reading to find out what happened to cause the divide. I sometimes quit reading if a storyline drags for me.
I am guilty of being charged with that one, too! I can bring home 20 books and only fully read 5-8.
