I always enjoy watching inspirational movies. When Momentum offered me the chance to share my American Underdog movie review with you, I was beyond ready to watch it. It reminded me of Remember the Titans from the preview, but once I got the opportunity to watch the movie my opinion changed.
About American Underdog Movie
American Underdog tells the inspirational true story of Kurt Warner (Zachary Levi from Shazam), who went from a stockboy at a grocery store to a two time NFL MVP, Super Bowl champion, and Hall of Fame quarterback. The film cen ters on Warner’s unique story and years of challenges and setbacks that could have derailed his aspirations to become an NFL player – but just when his dreams seemed all but out of reach, it is only with the support of his wife, Brenda (Anna Paquin) and the encouragement of his family, coaches, and teammates that Warner perseveres and finds the strength to show the world the champion that he already is. American Underdog is an uplifting story that demonstrates that anything is possible when you have faith, family and determination.

I was eager to watch the American Underdog movie after seeing the preview of it. I have always been a person who loves to watch inspirational movies. American Underdog is a true story about the life of NFL MVP Kurt Warner and his love story with his wife, Brenda. It showcases how faith can impact every part of a person’s life.
This movie reminded me of how passionate I was about horses when I was a teenager. I fully planned to make a career with them. I always had the dream of owning an equine therapy center for abused horses and teenagers. Horses are not even a part of my life right now, but I keep envisioning myself growing this blog to the point that I can comfortably make that dream a reality still. Like Kurt, I seriously wonder why God has given me this dream in such a strong manner when I don’t see it ever becoming a reality. Yet, there is a strong part of me that still has faith that one day I’ll be able to help both horses and teenagers who need guidance to overcome their past/present hurts in a healthy manner.
Kurt didn’t give up. He continued to work on his dream in some form throughout his life. This movie showcases how God will make everything for his good if we trust and believe in him.
This movie does have some slow parts to it, and I feel they could have left some things out. However, the overall message and movie itself are well worth watching!
