I could not wait to read The Last Letter because it has been recommended in many different book groups I’m a part of. I was warned it would be a tear-jerker, but I wasn’t fully prepared for just how much. The Last Letter is a romance book that you need to read!

About The Last Letter Book

The Last Letter Book Review 1

β€œThe Last Letter is a haunting, heartbreaking and ultimately inspirational love story.β€œβ€”InTouch Weekly

Beckett,

If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have.

I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride.

My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. It’s not fair.

And here’s the kicker: there’s something else you don’t know that’s tearing her family apart. She’s going to need help.

So if I’m gone, that means I can’t be there for Ella. I can’t help them through this. But you can. So I’m begging you, as my best friend, go take care of my sister, my family.

Please don’t make her go through it alone.

Ryan

My The Last Letter Book Review

The Last Letter (Paperback)

I’m a member of many book groups on Goodreads and several Facebook groups. In several of them, The Last Letter was highly recommended. It was mentioned that you need a box of tissues next to you as you read it. I’m glad I was warned about that detail!

The Last Letter is a love story about two people who connect first through pen-paling each other. Then, the woman’s brother leaves his last letter requesting his brother in arms to take care of his sister and her kids.

This is the beginning of a deep and passionate romance that must withstand many obstacles in life together. Some of these obstacles can be emotionally draining and difficult to navigate. Often, relationships fail in the face of such hardships. However, The Last Letter demonstrates how true love can persevere and survive even in the toughest circumstances.

The Last Letter is so much more than a romance. It’s a testament to the strength of bonds forged from trauma and loyalty. It’s an exploration of motherhood and the importance of family. But above all, it’s a story of survival, forgiveness, and the healing power of unconditional love.

This book was quite good! I couldn’t wait to read more of it. I cried, laughed, and hung on, hoping love would prevail.

Other Reviews From Other Readers

There are books that you read, and you completely forget them once you come to the end. And then there are books like this one. Books that embed themselves deep within you. Books that stir up all of your emotions and you just know that reading this book is going to change your life. The Last Letter is that kind of book. It’s the kind of book that just calls out to your soul and demands to be read. It’s the kind of book that you think you’re prepared for, but you couldn’t be more wrong. It’s the kind of book that destroys you, yet fills you with hope all at the same time. It’s the kind of book that will have you crying all of the ugly tears you can summon up. This is the kind of book that I can’t imagine never getting to experience. It’s completely and totally unforgettable and one of the best books I have ever read in my entire life.

Be prepared to feel every emotion you can think of having. I sobbed, I laughed, I cried happy tears, and I loved it even though I looked like I had been hit by a bus. There is so much grief and so much tragedy, but amongst it all, a lovely soul mate love story and a fight to live. This book was chosen by my book club, and so it’s not one I would have picked. I did love it and all its pain. It was beautifully written by an amazing author that I did not realize was the same as the fourth wing and iron flame that I am currently listening to on audible! She is one amazing author who takes you totally into the story and makes you feel all the feelings. Wow!
