I'll admit the title How to Make Money From Your Phone was what initially caught my attention. I've been making money online in one form or another for years, but affiliate marketing is one of those areas I've never felt like I've completely conquered.

I've used affiliate links on Sharing Life's Moments, recommended products I genuinely love, and even recommended some wonderful affiliate marketing courses over the years. I KNOW affiliate marketing can work. I've just never gotten it working as consistently for me as I would like, so I'm always interested in learning something that might help me see where I'm missing a piece of the puzzle.

That's ultimately what I found most useful about this book.

About How to Make Money From Your Phone Book

How To Make Money From Your Phone is a practical beginner-friendly guide that shows readers how to turn a simple smartphone into a powerful income tool.

Inside the book, readers discover modern online income methods, digital side hustles that require little capital, mindset shifts for financial independence, and practical strategies to start earning online.

This guide is written for beginners and focuses on realistic, practical actions anyone can start today.

It's Not Really About Making Money From Your Phone

Despite the title, How to Make Money From Your Phone isn't a book filled with random ways to make a few dollars using apps on your phone. It's really an introduction to building an online income stream through affiliate marketing, content creation, digital products, social media, funnels, and eventually systems that help you manage it all. Your phone is simply the tool the author uses throughout the process.

In fact, the book is pretty upfront about that. A smartphone can be used to research your audience, create content, manage links, communicate with customers, and track some of your results, but the author also acknowledges that certain website, account setup, and reporting tasks may still be easier on a computer. 4edit_How to make money from yo…

I appreciated that distinction because there's a BIG difference between saying you can run parts of an online business from your phone and making it sound like owning a smartphone is somehow a shortcut to making money.

Affiliate Marketing Takes Up a Big Part of the Book

If affiliate marketing is something you've been curious about but don't really understand yet, this book does a good job of breaking down the basics without assuming you already know all the terminology.

It covers how affiliate marketing works, choosing affiliate platforms, comparing offers, understanding commissions, selecting products, creating content, building an audience, using social media, and tracking what actually happens after you share a link.

One thing I particularly liked was the emphasis on choosing an affiliate program based on more than the commission percentage. The author encourages you to consider whether the product actually fits your audience, whether you're eligible for the program, which promotional methods are allowed, how tracking works, and how and when you'll be paid. 4edit_How to make money from yo…

That may not sound nearly as exciting as someone telling you how much money you could make, but it's a whole lot more useful.

I've learned over the years that having an affiliate link available doesn't automatically mean I should use it. If I'm going to recommend something to the people who trust me, it needs to make sense for them first. The commission comes after that.

You Don't Need a Huge Following

Another part that stood out to me was the discussion about building an audience that actually trusts you rather than chasing follower numbers. The author talks about storytelling, sharing your journey instead of constantly sharing products, showing up consistently, and building relationships rather than focusing entirely on how many followers you have.

This is something I could relate to because I'd much rather have a smaller group of people who know that when I recommend something, there's a REASON I'm recommending it than thousands of people who couldn't care less what I have to say.

That doesn't mean every recommendation is going to result in a sale, of course, but it does mean you're building something more valuable than a follower count.

The Funnel Section Made Me Look at My Own Business Differently

This was probably the part of the book that gave me the most to think about. The word "funnel" can make online marketing sound much more complicated than it needs to be, but the author basically describes it as the path someone follows after discovering your content. You create something useful, give that person a relevant place to go next, and make that next step clear.

Simple enough, right?

Except it made me realize how easy it is to spend YEARS creating blog posts, social media content, freebies, emails, products, and recommendations without stopping to ask whether all those pieces are actually leading anywhere.

That hit home for me.

I'm guilty of creating something, publishing it, moving on to the next idea, and then wondering why the first thing isn't doing more for me. This book reminded me that sometimes the answer isn't creating MORE. Sometimes it's doing a better job connecting what I've already created.

That's something I'm currently working on with Sharing Life's Moments, and this book gave me several ideas I'm interested in testing.

I Appreciated the Reality Check About Making Money Online

Any time I read something about making money online, I'm looking for the part where somebody promises that following a certain formula is going to make me $10,000 next month.

Thankfully, that's not what this book does.

The author makes it clear that your results depend on your audience, the product, traffic quality, conversion rates, experience, time, expenses, refunds, and plenty of other variables. He even points out that it's entirely possible for a project to make no sales or lose money.

That's much closer to my own experience of making money online.

There are things I've done that worked wonderfully. There are things I thought would work that barely moved the needle. There are also things I've spent WAY too much time on before admitting they weren't working.

The book encourages you to start small, track what's happening, and make decisions based on actual results instead of assuming that because something worked for someone else, it will automatically work the same way for you.

There's a Lot Here Beyond Affiliate Links

Although affiliate marketing is a major focus, the How to Make Money From Your Phone book eventually starts connecting it to the bigger picture of building an online business. There are chapters covering Instagram, short form video, funnels, genuine deadlines, paid traffic, automation, measuring results, and building something sustainable.

I especially liked the approach to selling because the author encourages you to explain what a product actually contains, who it's for, what it costs, and what someone will need to do with it rather than relying entirely on emotion to convince someone to buy. He also talks about using genuine reviews, disclosing affiliate relationships, and not inventing testimonials or income results.

That kind of marketing is much more comfortable for me because I'd rather tell you WHY I think something might be useful and let you decide whether it fits your life.

The 30 Day Plan Might Be the Most Useful Part for a Beginner

Toward the end, the book takes everything you've learned and turns it into a 30 day plan. I really liked that it doesn't promise you're going to make a certain amount of money by Day 30. The point is to actually start testing what you've learned.

You're encouraged to choose one audience, listen to the questions they're already asking, choose a platform you can realistically maintain, research a couple of possible offers, actually look at the products before recommending them, check the affiliate terms, and set limits on how much time and money you're willing to put into the experiment. 4edit_How to make money from yo…

There are also practical checklists for setting up affiliate marketing, building a basic funnel, and creating promotional content. 4edit_How to make money from yo…

I think that's important because reading another book about making money isn't going to make any of us money. At some point, you have to close the book and actually TRY something.

Would I Recommend How to Make Money From Your Phone?

I would recommend How to Make Money From Your Phone particularly to someone who is curious about affiliate marketing or building an online income stream but doesn't quite understand how all the pieces connect yet.

If you're already running a successful affiliate marketing business, there's a good chance you'll know much of what's covered here. There are also much more in depth courses available if you want to dive deeply into one particular part of affiliate marketing, and I've recommended some excellent ones myself over the years.

I don't think this book needs to replace those. What I think it does well is give you a reasonably easy to understand picture of how the different pieces fit together and then give you practical ways to start experimenting with them.

For me, it wasn't about discovering that you can make money online. I already knew that because I've done it. I always like seeing what others state about making money online.
