After the week I had, I couldn’t wait to curl up and vegetate in front of the TV. I’m so glad that I’m blessed with the chance to find wholesome family entertainment with ease. I was not disappointed when I started watching the Running the Bases Movie on Pure Flix.
This is NOT one of the movies they have selected for me to review in advance or even promote as one of the VIP Pure Flix Ambassadors. So, I'm doing this one completely on my own! As always, all opinions and thoughts are 100% my own!
About Running the Bases Movie
A small-town baseball coach uproots his family to coach at a large school but it gets ugly when the superintendent makes him the target of his anger toward God.
My Review of Running the Bases Movie
This movie will make you cry tears of joy! At least it did me! While the act of “running the bases” is not a big deal, what his action stood for IS! Running the bases symbolized his commitment to honor God and his lost brother through every game he coached.
Brett Varnel does an amazing job of sharing God’s love and his faith in this movie. Be sure to check out his testimony on Pure Flix’s website.
We live in a society where talking about our faith is frowned upon. I honestly wish it wasn’t that way! Am I saying you’re a horrible person if you don’t believe the same thing as me, NO! But I am saying that I believe in God as my Lord and Savior.
He’s NOT my savior in that he will shield me from all harm and hardships. Because Gosh knows he’s put me through the wringer in my life. I’ve endured tons of different forms of abuse, disabilities that doctors are still in shock aren’t far worse than what they are, and now health issues that may or may not be fully controlled by medicine. I’ve lost loved ones too soon in life. I’ve had heartaches!
But THROUGH.IT.ALL… God has remained faithful and true. He has ensured I have gotten through every bit of it. He has yet to fail to provide our family with our NEEDS.
He has richly blessed me with kids that doctors swore I’d NEVER be able to have due to the physical damage my childhood body received. Granted ALL three of my pregnancies made me bedridden and made me feel like I was going to die. But I lived to tell the tales. My kids are my greatest joys and blessings. The other two kids in my life mean equally as much to me even though I didn’t give birth to them!
My point is so often anymore we don’t see God-loving individuals standing strong in their faith. I’m not a saint, and some of my actions may lead one to wonder how strong my faith truly runs in my veins.
I still watch and read things that some Christians would feel is not appropriate for me. But I also feel that for ME personally, those things prompt me to share my story as it relates to those things.
I also believe that God has created us all for a purpose far greater than we can imagine. In HIS due time, he reveals to us what we are supposed to do with the gifts He’s provided us.
Running the Bases movie is such an inspirational movie to watch because it reminds us that we have someone worth fighting for. God is NOT dead. He is very real and alive, and if we let him he WILL show us the way we are supposed to go.
You’ll appreciate this movie if you have liked War Room and the God is NOT Dead series of movies! Also, Pure Flix recommends watching Woodlawn too.

Are you prepared to be running the bases for your faith?
I don’t think Christians get a hard time talking about God. I think Muslims do tho. Glad you found a movie you liked. That get’s harder and harder, even though there’s so many available. #Dreamteam
I’m sorry to hear that Muslims go through harder struggles than it appears Christians do right now. I don’t believe ANY person should have to fight to practice what they personally believe in.
It’s hard for us to all live in harmony with each other when we believe different things. That part is extremely true, but by the same token, America has become well-known as the land of the free for us all to be able to practice what we believe in.

But I am welcome to hear ALL things and opinions even if they are different than my own. I can’t know everything, and sometimes with enough argument, you may TEACH me something new that may change my perspective.
As for your question, I beleive we have a responsibility to help other people – so stand up against their persecution, demand welfare or healthcare for people that need it, even or especially if we don’t. So I guess my responibility is to the people on this planet and a lot of my decisions are based on that. So I guess I do run the bases in that respect. But as always, could probably do more….I look at Turkiye and Syria and it makes me sick. I can’t do anything really, other than give money and I don’t even know how much of it gets there. Heart breaking. #Dreamteam

Interesting topic; we in the West always think we are the creators of our life, but the rest 3/4 of the world knows that is not entirely true. There are thousands of forms of the same god cherished around the world, and no, I don’t like the Muslim version, with instructions going down even to what toilet paper you should use. I think Islam is not even a religion, but a very powerful political ideology made to occupy the rest of the world from day one onwards. But all the rest will tell you one message (in hundreds of different ways); you are definitely not alone in this world. Faith is what connects us all.
I’m glad you felt free to voice your opinion! I don’t know much about other religions, but what I do know is I believe everyone is entitled to their beliefs. I will respect someone’s beliefs even if they are different than my own.
I also agree with you that in some form or fashion, we are connected by faith. We all live by taking leaps of faith through uncertain times.

I grew up all around baseball because my brother played it (and well might I add.) To this day it’s still a sport, I’ll take time to watch every now and then when he crosses my mind pretty hard.

This looks like a great movie, with a strong, heartfelt message behind it. I love the idea of the team being a family. Like Laura said, baseball isn’t huge in the UK, but running the bases reminds me of something the kids in my brothers ice hockey team would do before the start of a game – touch the ice in a circle in front of the goal keepers.
