One of the reasons these good streaming series to watch with my teenage daughter matter is because raising teenagers is probably the trickiest time for parents. I feel that it is that way because they are seeing us in a different light.
Plus if a parent is preparing their young adult to be on their own, then they are trying to let go and let their teenager “find their way” without dictating their every move. That’s one of the reasons these good streaming series to watch with my teenage daughter matter.
It warms my heart when my kids take the time to still be with me. But my daughter is the LAST child I have left that really still WANTS to spend time with me because she’s the youngest. But all too soon she’s going to enter that lovely teenage stage where it will become like pulling teeth to make that happen. So, I decided it was time to prepare to pick streaming series to watch with my teenage daughter.
I hope you’ll find some shows to watch with your teenage daughter too. I’ve found that many of these shows allow us to freely talk about the hard topics they will encounter in life without having the spotlight on “THEM.” It also allows me to share my OWN personal life experiences with kids with ease too.

Just because your teenager seems like they aren’t interested in spending time with you, please don’t forget to ask them to do it. You might be amazed to find out how much they want to be with you too. While watching good series for teenagers helps open up lines of communication with my teenagers.
Another avenue to consider would be to ask them to go on a long drive with them, and just turn the radio off and ask them to put their phones down. They ask them to just talk to you. Let them lead the conversation.
Every moment we get to connect matters just as much during the teen years as it did when they were babies and toddlers. Yet, many parents think they aren’t needed or wanted by their teenagers. It saddens me how often I’ve seen teenagers fall through the cracks for this very reason.
If you’ve gained nothing from this list of good series to watch with your teenage daughters, I hope you do gather the reminder that you are still a vital part of their life. They need you more now than ever. This world is extra crazy for them. Shoot it’s even harder to navigate now for them than it was for us thanks to the added aspects of the online world. Which streaming series would you add to watch with your teenage daughter?
My daughters are all grown but one of my granddaughters has enjoyed When Calls the Heart on the Hallmark channel.
This is one of my son’s favorite series! He had to own ALL of them. We started watching them when he was a young boy, and he grew up watching it with me. So, it’s OUR show.
Thank you for stopping by and commenting and mentioning another great series. I hope to see you again soon.
Great post. We struggle at the moment – my poor husband has to watch these awful horror movies with her (I get too scared). Will try to float some of these.#Dreamteam
I’m sorry to hear that he has to endure horror movies. I’m NOT a fan of those at all myself.
Thank you for stopping by and commenting. I hope to see you again soon.
My daughter is now 21 but over the past several years we’ve watched a lot of movies and shows together. It’s almost the only time I watched TV! We loved Stranger Things, Anne of Green Gables (and other Anne series), Umbrella Academy, and others. We also listen to a lot of music together, especially while driving. Listening to and discussing music has been one of the best ways to connect with her. Visiting from Sweet Tea and Friends
Anne of Green Gables is an amazing series. I’m glad you mentioned it.
I’m glad you two have the option to connect through music.
Thank you for stopping by and commenting. I hope to see you again soon.
I love SO many of these shows! Even though I’m thirty now, I still love all those teen dramas, haha! Riverdale is one of my absolute favorites and I’m actually going back to rewatch it now.
Wishing you a wonderful start to your week! 🙂
Make Life Marvelous
I love teen dramas too! Riverdale is definitely entertaining.
Thank you for stopping by and commenting. It’s always good to see you!
I’m a huge believer in always having a show going to watch with my daughter as a way to spend time together without trying to force it. Right now we are on season 2 of Lost in Space on Netflix. Titans on HBO Max is another one that we’ve watched the first two seasons of. Hawkeye and Ms Marvel are great Marvel series on Disney + that we watched together as well. #dreamteam
