One of the best things we pay for in our home is our Amazon Prime membership. I didn’t want you to miss out on taking advantage of these Amazon Prime perks. These are some of the ones that most members tend to forget they have or don’t even know exist.
Free Prime Reading
As I’ve stated several times, I love to read good books. Prime Reading is one of my favorite features because there is a LONG list of books to choose from. You also get access to magazines and comics too.

One of the other book lovers’ benefits of being a Prime member is the Amazon First Reads program. You get to pick out a free book each month from a variety of books from several categories.
Book Lending
Love reading books from the library but hate the return due dates? You will love this perk! Each calendar month, Prime members can borrow one book from Kindle Owners’ Lending Library.
Earn Money with No-Rush Shipping
You can take advantage of earning digital money by not using your Prime shipping feature. You’ll see this feature when you go to check out.
Free Movies and TV Shows with Prime Video
You can watch a ton of awesome movies and shows on Prime Video. One of my favorite series that Prime Video has is the Downtown Abbey series.
Prime Wardrobe
Prime Wardrobe allows you to select up to six items to try BEFORE you buy them. You get to keep the items for 7-days to decide what items you want to keep. Whatever you don’t want to keep you can return FREE of charge.
Prime Music
You can get access a wide range of music to listen to included in your Prime Membership. Prime Music can listen on many devices. It’s especially fun to listen to it on my Echo Dot.
Just For Prime
In Amazon’s search dropdown, select “Just for Prime” to find Amazon Prime shopping deals — you guessed it — just for Prime members. These deals are for Prime members ONLY.
Amazon Household
Share your favorite Prime benefits with someone you live with, including FREE Two-Day Shipping, Prime Video, Prime Reading, and more. *Please be sure to check on rules of what it means to use Amazon Household.*
Prime Day
EVERY year Amazon hosts a Prime Day for their members. They provide a wide range of discounts on tons of hot items.
Unlimited Online Photo Storage
You can store UNLIMITED photos on the Amazon network. It saves you space on your computer, and you can access them with ease.
Early Access to Lightning Deals
Prime members get 30-minute early access to Lightning Deals. It is easy to tell if a Lightning Deal is a Prime Early Access deal. It will say “Prime Early Access” on pages other than the product page and it will also say so on the “Add to Cart” box on the product page.
Prime Gaming
You can get free games and free in-game content as well. You also get free Twitch Prime membership as well too.
Amazon Prime members who like games will love this benefit! You can score free Kindle or Android games and apps from Amazon Underground! Each day they also add free Apps of the day that are free too! These downloads are 100% free for Prime members!
A standard Amazon Prime membership currently costs $119 per year — perhaps a steep price to pay for free 2-day shipping, but when you take into account all the above features you get with it one can see the value in that price point. You can also get a Prime membership for $12.99 a month. IF you have food stamps or Medicaid, you can get a membership for $5.99 a month.
