Please remember any deductions you claim, and make sure you have a physical track record in your bank statements, receipts, or other methods. These expenses will help you if you’re a blogger.
Let’s preface this to say that I am NOT a tax advisor. However, I have taken many courses on taxes throughout my life. But PLEASE be sure to talk to your own tax advisor about any of these recommended tax deductions for bloggers and ensure they do apply to your personal blogging situation! Tax laws do change often.

Whenever you spend money on anything related to your blog, it can be considered a tax write-off. However, it’s important to ensure that you don’t claim more expenses than the profit you made (unless you have a valid reason that can explain the severe decline in profit), or if these expenses are something that you usually claim every year. This is especially applicable if you’re in your first year of business. By keeping these things in mind, you can make the most of tax deductions and save money.
A good example is my blog, and I can claim my TV streaming expenses because I cover many TV viewing topics on my blog for various streaming networks. Whereas, if I were a food blogger, I wouldn’t have the right to claim that expense, but I could claim the cost of the ingredients, the pots and pans, etc, for making the food I create on my blog. (But I’m not sure if a food blogger could claim the whole expense or a percentage since it’s highly unlikely they are just making the food for a blog post.)
As a blogger, it’s important to keep track of all your expenses incurred throughout the year. This record can help you consult with a tax advisor and identify ways to reduce the taxes you may owe for running your blogging business. By maintaining a diligent record of your expenses, you can ensure compliance with tax regulations and minimize your tax burden.
