Hello and welcome to October. It’s hard to believe that we’re already in this month. It feels like this year just started. As we’re now in the final quarter of the year, I’ve been reflecting on my blog posting for the year so far and noticed that there have been several months where my calendar has been empty. So, I have decided to join in the Blogtober fun.

Some of the bloggers I know who have joined the fun include:

The Wildflower Wifey

Mummy Conquering Anxiety

Grab A Cuppa

Germander Cottage Crafts

Elle Unwrapping Words

Awareness Topics in October

As much as I love reading and my books, I had no clue that October hosted National Book Month. National Book Month is held each October! This annual month-long event honors the power of reading and writing — and is celebrated by authors, booksellers, publishers, and readers.

Disabled Authors Day – October 2nd

Read and share the best books about disabilities — written by disabled authors.

World Animal Day – October 4th.

Welcome October: Join the Blogtober Fun 1

I am an avid animal lover. I believe I follow every local animal shelter around me. Bissell is trying to help animals find new homes by hosting the reduced-fee adoption event. You can learn more about this event by visiting their website.

World’s Teacher’s Day — October 5th

As a homeschool parent, this day is especially special to me. But it’s also special because my adopted mother is a teacher, and so is my aunt. I also prepared to become a teacher almost all of my life.

World’s Mental Health Day — October 10th

As a woman with mental health issues, this day greatly matters to me. I’ll go into more detail in another post.

October is also Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Domestic violence is a topic I’m unfortunately well acquainted with. I hope that by the end of this month, anyone suffering through this nightmare feels confident in seeking the help they need to escape it.

There are numerous topics to cover this October, all of which are significant and worth exploring. I hope you find our Blogtober event enjoyable throughout the month.
