About Eleanor’s Bench

Eleanor's Bench Series Pure Flix Review and Giveaway 1

Eleanor Thomas’s success as a Washington DC juvenile court judge is challenged when her inner-city past comes to court and demands more than judgment, prompting her to return to her impoverished neighborhood of youth. Will her renewed sense of purpose reinvigorate her faith?

Episode 1: Your Past Doesn’t Define You

Though Eleanor grew up in a tough neighborhood, she didn’t let that stop her from chasing her dreams. When she was of age, she was able to get a good education and make her way up the career ladder into a high-profile law firm in Washington D.C. She didn’t let the fact of where she came from limit her belief in herself and her goals for her life. All the while, when asked where she came from, Eleanor is not afraid to talk about her humble beginnings. She’s proud of who she is today and knows that her upbringing shaped her.

My Pure Flix Review of Eleanor’s Bench Series

Eleanor's Bench Series Pure Flix Review and Giveaway 2

The bench named “Eleanor’s Bench” imparts significant teachings on embracing God’s calling, exercising self-restraint, gaining insights from past experiences, and realizing one’s self-worth and deserving of God’s affection. It showcases how one person can make such a powerful difference in other’s lives. “Eleanor’s Bench” is a touching show that shines a light on the juvenile justice system in an informative an enlightening way.

This series holds significant meaning to me as someone who had a life-changing experience during my rebellious youth. Thanks to my second-fifth-grade teacher who helped me get back on track, I am the person I am today.

A compassionate educator took the time to pull me aside and remind me that my potential exceeded my current abusive circumstances. Despite my disruptive behavior, she remained steadfast in her support and even turned me into her teacher in her class. She remained true to her word and continued to encourage me until the day I graduated high school with honors. Without her belief in me and her unwavering support, I shudder to think where my life might have led.

Eleanor is a judge who follows God’s lead and makes compassionate decisions. Since her hometown is “the hood”, she strives to make a positive difference there. But she is having to deal with drama from strained familial relationships.

I’ve only had the chance to watch the first three episodes, but I found them enjoyable. It’s inspiring to see shows that encourage supporting young people to improve their lives. I strongly believe that these individuals deserve every opportunity to succeed.
