I know we're still in October, but is it ever really too early to start watching Christmas movies? There's something comforting about settling into a good holiday movie after a long day. Maybe it's the familiar small-town settings, the family traditions, or the reminder that even when life doesn't go according to plan, there's still room for love, laughter, and a little Christmas magic.
One thing I've always appreciated about Great American Pure Flix is its focus on entertainment that celebrates faith, family, and meaningful relationships. I've enjoyed working with them in the past, and I'm excited to see what they have planned for this Christmas season.
Great American Christmas 2026 is bringing four new movies to Great American Pure Flix throughout October, and the stories cover everything from rekindled romance and family reunions to answered prayers and an unexpected Arctic adventure.
Let's take a look at what's coming!

A Second Chance Christmas — October 8, 2026
Starring: Candace Cameron Bure and Jonathan Scarfe
Streaming on Great American Pure Flix beginning October 8
Have you ever wondered what would happen if two people who once loved each other were given another opportunity to make things work?
That's the idea behind A Second Chance Christmas.
Anna and James have been divorced for five years when they reunite with their adult children for Christmas. What should be a family holiday gathering takes an unexpected turn when an ice storm creates the possibility of rekindling their relationship.
I have a soft spot for stories about established couples finding their way back to one another. Marriage and long-term relationships aren't always easy, and sometimes people need time and perspective to recognize what truly matters.
I'm curious to see how this movie handles the complicated emotions that come with reconnecting after a divorce, especially when grown children are involved.

Silver Bells at Christmas — October 15, 2026
Starring: Laura Osnes, Ryan McPartlin, Chuck Wicks, Taylor Kalupa, Julia Reilly, and Tanya Christiansen
Streaming on Great American Pure Flix beginning October 15
Sometimes the hardest part of moving forward is figuring out what we're ready to leave behind.
In Silver Bells at Christmas, Ginny is determined to save the Christmas shop that belonged to her late mother. But when a persistent buyer enters the picture and her first love returns, she's faced with decisions that could change the future she imagined for herself.
I think many of us can relate to holding on to something because of the memories attached to it. Whether it's a family tradition, a childhood home, or something passed down through generations, those connections can be difficult to let go of.
This movie sounds like it could offer a nice balance of holiday romance and the emotional journey of learning when to preserve the past and when to embrace something new.

A Christmas Prayer Tradition — October 22, 2026
Starring: Shae Robins and Christopher Russell
Streaming on Great American Pure Flix beginning October 22
Of the four October premieres, this one particularly caught my attention because of its focus on faith and the little things we can do to make a difference in someone else's life.
In A Christmas Prayer Tradition, Natalie is preparing to launch her new children's book while a family in Bellford Falls quietly works to answer the prayers of people in their community.
Their acts of kindness become a reminder that making a meaningful difference doesn't always require something grand.
As someone who loves books and believes that small acts of kindness can have a lasting impact, I appreciate the premise of this movie.
It's easy to get caught up in everything we feel we need to accomplish, especially during the holiday season. Sometimes, though, the most meaningful things we do are the ones nobody else even notices.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this story brings that message to life.

A Very Arctic Christmas — October 29, 2026
Starring: Jill Wagner and Cameron Mathison
Streaming on Great American Pure Flix beginning October 29
Now, this one sounds like a fun change from the traditional Christmas movie setting!
Instead of a cozy little town filled with Christmas decorations, A Very Arctic Christmas takes viewers on an unexpected adventure.
When a father and daughter find themselves stranded in the Arctic during a Christmas cruise, they must depend on a spirited wildlife conservationist to help them get home.
Along the way, their unexpected circumstances lead to opportunities for family connection, wonder, and possibly a little romance.
I enjoy holiday movies that offer something different while still keeping the heart of Christmas at the center of the story. The Arctic setting certainly sounds like it could make this one stand out from the usual lineup.
And honestly, being stranded in the Arctic sounds like quite the way to spend Christmas!

Which October Christmas Movie Are You Most Excited to Watch?
I think one of the things that makes Christmas movies so enjoyable is that we don't always watch them for the same reasons. Sometimes we're in the mood for a sweet romance. Other times, we want a story that reminds us of the importance of family, forgiveness, faith, or simply being there for the people we love.
That's why I appreciate having a variety of stories to choose from. Personally, A Second Chance Christmas and A Christmas Prayer Tradition are the two that immediately caught my attention. Both seem to touch on themes that I enjoy exploring here on Sharing Life's Moments: making the most of the relationships we already have and recognizing the importance of small, meaningful moments.
Of course, I wouldn't be surprised if one of the other movies ended up becoming a favorite!
Now I'd love to hear from you!
Are you someone who starts watching Christmas movies in October, or do you wait until after Thanksgiving?
