I purposely waited until all of Season 4 of Emily in Paris was released before taking my weekend to view it. I have unexpectedly been a fan of this series since it started. When it first aired, I had reservations about whether this would be my kind of series. While there are certain aspects of the series that do make me cringe, I do like the storyline.

About Emily in Paris Season 4

After the dramatic events of Camille and Gabriel’s misbegotten wedding, Emily is reeling: She has strong feelings for two men, but now Gabriel’s expecting a baby with his ex, and Alfie’s worst fears about her and Gabriel have been confirmed. At work, Sylvie is forced to confront a thorny dilemma from her past for the sake of her marriage, and the Agence Grateau team navigates personnel shakeups. Mindy and the band prepare for Eurovision, but when funds run dry, they’re forced to get thrifty. Emily and Gabriel’s chemistry is undeniable as they work together towards a Michelin star, but two big secrets threaten to undo everything they’ve dreamed of.

My Thoughts on Emily in Paris Season 4

Emily in Paris is one of those series that you do have to pay attention to almost entirely between reading the subtext and keeping up with who is with whom. However, even though I typically do multiple things when watching something, having a show force me to slow down and watch it is nice.

I’m not a huge fan of how much the creators try to force the relationship between Emily and Gabriel. That’s odd for me to say since Del and I played the yo-yo game for over 16 years and have had plenty of relationships with others in that time frame. AND we always ended up back together. Now, we are working on almost 17 years of marriage!

But while I believe love can conquer all, I do not feel like Emily and Gabriel truly are experiencing true love for each other. I believe that is why I seem to always be rooting for Emily to move on to someone else. The new man in her life in Season 4 is a solid candidate to win her heart. Of course, we still need to learn more about him before I put my stamp of approval on it.

One of the things I like about this series is watching Mindy’s story unfold. She’s a free spirit who hasn’t fully learned her value, which is apparent in her decisions. I pray that as the series unfolds, she gains more confidence in her abilities and who she is versus using her looks to her advantage. As someone who flaunted my looks and used them to my advantage in my earlier years and has since grown up and learned the value of being concealed in more ways than one, it breaks my heart to see Mindy go to the levels she does. But her singing of the song she wrote gave me much hope for her future within this series. Check out her performance in the scene below. It’s remarkable, and I hope the creators will expand on her using her talents more than making her look three-quarters of the way naked in almost every episode.

Plenty of things in the Emily in Paris series make me cringe, but I’m drawn to it because Del and I went through our yo-yo stage. I also LOVE the scenery that we get to see throughout the series. I’m fascinated by the outfits Emily wears.

I’m unsure where Season 5 will take us or if they will rename the series, but we won’t get to find out until 2026. I do hope it gets released sooner.
