There are countless inspirational TV shows, movies, and books out there, and I’ve reviewed as many as I’ve had the opportunity to cover. Still, the Ripple series on Netflix has stayed with me long after watching. Maybe it’s because I’m walking through my own very real ripple moments right now, or maybe it’s because I truly believe God places people in our lives with intention and purpose. Either way, this is a series that deserves far more attention. So if you’re curious, keep reading.

About the Ripple on Netflix Series
Set in New York City, “Ripple” explores how seemingly small decisions can bring people together in unexpected ways. The series follows four strangers — Walter, Kris, Nate, and Aria — who have unknowingly crossed paths many times but never met. As they each face life’s challenges, their actions create a ripple effect that ultimately connects them. “Ripple” delivers a powerful message of hope: the best things often come after the storm, and no one is truly alone. 📺 Watch all episodes of Ripple on Netflix! My Review of the Ripple on Netflix Series
I’ve always been able to see how God places people in our lives with purpose, if we’re willing to accept the role each person is meant to play. Some people are only meant to pass through our lives briefly, while others are intended to stay for the long haul. What has always amazed me is how quickly I’ve been able to sense which role someone would have.
I truly believe God uses our life stories to help the next person who needs those lessons. That’s something the Netflix series Ripple illustrates so clearly. And recently, it feels like my daughter and I have been living out our own very real version of that ripple effect.
Horses have always been a part of my life. They are one of the few things that have made me feel fully alive in the most powerful way. For a long time, I believed that part of me had been taken away. After I had my first daughter and gained a significant amount of weight, riding felt out of reach. Then my car accident in 2006 made it feel completely impossible. I truly thought that chapter of my life was closed for good.
What I’ve learned this year is that it wasn’t taken away from me at all. It just looks different now. I’ve had to learn new ways of doing what I love, new ways of moving, and new ways of trusting my body again.
Without my coaxing throughout our youngest daughter’s life, she has begged to get horseback riding lessons. But her anxiety levels and lack of being able to follow directions with ease have prevented me from allowing her to explore getting lessons because I feared her getting hurt. And after giving up my oldest daughter to my ex-husband and his wife, I kind of kept her in a bubble because of that and the fact that we had prayed to have her for four years. When I did end up pregnant, I almost lost her in a miscarriage because I didn’t even know I was pregnant. But when she turned 13, I relented because she had not changed her mind on wanting to do it. I’ve even gone so far as to have her earn and save her money to have all the animals she owns and for her lessons. She’s figured out her portion of the deal.

However, finding the right trainer for our teenage daughter has been a journey in itself. If you’ve ever lived with anxiety, you know how overwhelming learning to ride can be. Without the right horse and the right trainer, it can become scary and even dangerous. We tried several people and horses in our area, and honestly, it was discouraging.
Then one day, out of the blue, I passed a woman at our local Tractor Supply while she was loading horse feed into her vehicle. I almost didn’t say anything. But a voice in my head was so strong it practically yelled at me to ask her about riding lessons.
While finding her lessons, I found that I couldn’t resist the urge to get back into the horse world myself. And due to my ankle injury, I’m not quite strong enough YET to jump in the saddle with ease. But I’m determined to make it happen again!! I know with enough time that it CAN happen now.
And we’ve been incredibly blessed to meet a woman who is not only willing to help me relearn how to ride, but who is also helping train our daughter as well. We are only two lessons in, and both she and her horses have been nothing short of amazing.
It feels like we’ve found our horse home, along with the beginning of a beautiful friendship with her and her husband. What makes this even more meaningful is that if you’ve followed me for any length of time, you know how deeply I’ve longed to start an equine therapy center for abused horses and troubled teens. And here she is, already running an equine therapy center. And she’s made it known that she’s eager to have me take part in helping it grow and thrive. So, while it may not be MY equine therapy center, I still get to pursue being an active part of one using skills I’ve learned throughout the years I’ve been yearning to do this.
My daughter and I have already started taking steps to become actively involved, and I can’t wait to see where this journey leads. This dream has lived in my heart ever since Tripp saved me in more ways than one.
And while I’m not able to provide the financial help this equine center needs yet, I’m praying with all my might that by using my skillsets that we will help them generate all the funds they need to help it reach its full potential and more! My mind and heart haven’t stopped rolling since she gave me the green light and said, Yes, I want us to work together. For the first time in years, I’m filled with excitement and joy.
Our daughter is beyond excited that she gets to be a part of this with us, too. With her animal photography skills, I hope it helps generate more exposure for this equine rescue center and FUNDING for it.
NOTE: I don’t have all the details quite yet to share HOW you can help fund this equine therapy center, but rest assured, it’s coming. But I’ll also ensure I make it worth your while, too. But if you’re a horse lover, then you’ll see why I am so enthused to be a part of this organization.
The Ripple series is a powerful reminder that we all can impact others, sometimes through something as small as one conversation or one act of kindness. I’ve felt that many times throughout my years working in customer service, and it shows up just as much in the relationships we build every day.
It feels fitting that this series showed up at the same time we’re living out our own ripple moment. I encourage you to look for ways to create positive ripples in your own life. And if you’ve been hiding inside your home, try stepping outside those walls. When we stay hidden too long, those walls really do become confinement. We weren’t designed to live disconnected from others, even when interaction feels uncomfortable.
When our daughter was younger, she struggled deeply with speaking to others. I used to tell her that even saying “hi” counted as a win. She would proudly tell me she did her “peopling” for the day, and we’d laugh together. Today, you’d never guess how hard that once was for her. I’m incredibly proud of how far she’s come, especially over the last year. I truly believe doing DoorDash together helped build her confidence with people.
She still has growing to do, but don’t we all? I know I do. I’m still learning how to listen without making everything about myself. Thankfully, she gently keeps me in check because she knows I genuinely want to do better on that front.
There is so much more that the Ripple series on Netflix makes me think and feel. I believe you will like watching it too.

When Choosing Hope Feels Impossible: Just One More Movie and My Story
There are things we carry that nobody can see from the outside. Wounds that started…

Just finished the 3rd episode and I absolutely love it. Very heartwarming. I hope it continues for several more seasons.
I hope it does too, but to date, they haven’t made any annoucements confirming a new season is coming.
Oh my this sounds like a fantastic series. I’m definitely interested in watching this. The riding therapy program sounds amazing. You and I have horses in common too. I grew up on a small farm, cows, chickens, 3 ponies when I was younger, then 2 horses when I was a teenager. I rode western growing up. But took English riding lessons at a local stable in my 20’s. I didn’t have a horse as an adult, so I went trail riding in addition to my lessons at the local stable.
I appreciate you sharing this review and about the therapy riding program with Sweet Tea & Friend’s this month sweet friend.
That’s neat that we share a common love of horses together. I never did learn English, and my cordination skills leave a lot to be desired. So, while I can fully appreciate watching others ride English, every attempt I’ve made to learn how to ride that way took away my joy in riding at the time. I rode western or bareback all the time.
Thank you for stopping by and commenting. I hope to see you again soon.
Happy June Crystal! Just popping back over to let you know I’ll be featuring your post at the Sweet Tea & Friend’s June Link Up. Which will be live later on this evening.
