I have been out of it for quite some time. I’m so glad that my first pick on a book to read off the Kindle Unlimited program was The Things We Leave Unfinished. This was a timely read because it reminded me of the love that still burns in my soul for my own husband.
About The Things We Leave Unfinished

Told in alternating timelines, THE THINGS WE LEAVE UNFINISHED examines the risks we take for love, the scars too deep to heal, and the endings we can’t bring ourselves to see coming.
Twenty-eight-year-old Georgia Stanton has to start over after she gave up almost everything in a brutal divorce—the New York house, the friends, and her pride. Now back home at her late great-grandmother’s estate in Colorado, she finds herself face-to-face with Noah Harrison, the bestselling author of a million books where the cover is always people nearly kissing. He’s just as arrogant in person as in interviews, and she’ll be damned if the good-looking writer of love stories thinks he’s the one to finish her grandmother’s final novel…even if the publisher swears he’s the perfect fit.
Noah is at the pinnacle of his career. With book and movie deals galore, there isn’t much the “golden boy” of modern fiction hasn’t accomplished. But he can’t walk away from what might be the best book of the century—the one his idol, Scarlett Stanton, left unfinished. Coming up with a fitting ending for the legendary author is one thing, but dealing with her beautiful, stubborn, cynical great-granddaughter, Georgia, is quite another.
But as they read Scarlett’s words in both the manuscript and her box of letters, they start to realize why Scarlett never finished the book—it’s based on her real-life romance with a World War II pilot, and the ending isn’t a happy one. Georgia knows all too well that love never works out, and while the chemistry and connection between her and Noah is undeniable, she’s as determined as ever to learn from her great-grandmother’s mistakes—even if it means destroying Noah’s career.
My Review of Things We Leave Unfinished Book
This book has several different love stories throughout it. I love how the author captured the love story from long ago and combined it with a love story from today’s timeframe. She broke down the stories in such a well-mannered layout too. I never felt the least bit lost or missing anything from the stories.
I love how she provided such a surprising twist to the story towards the end. It truly enhanced the stories even more!
This book was one of those I couldn’t wait to pick back up to find out what happens next. I was cheering Noah on throughout the entire book!
As a woman who has been hurt and still has major trust issues, it was nice to see another male character willing to prove his worth to the woman he loves. I appreciated how the author made him handsome, yet only had eyes for Georgia. The author did a wonderful job of promoting WHY his being a man of his word was so vital to winning the love of his life.
True love is not something we all get to experience. But for those of us who have had that one true love in our life then we know how rare, powerful, and all-consuming it can be for those involved. Del has been my true love since I was thirteen years old. I’ve tried moving on from him many different times, including two failed marriages, and no one has ever held a candle in my whole being like he has and still does.
The Things We Leave Unfinished rekindled my love spark with my husband. We are going on fifteen years of marriage and seventeen years of being back together. As anyone who’s been married for over ten years will tell you, it’s hard to keep that marriage spark alive.
My husband and I have been like newlyweds and acting like we are starting fresh since I started reading this book. While it doesn’t remove all of our problems, it does help to know that we still have the ability to connect with each other on this level still.
I recommend you read The Things We Leave Unfinished if you appreciate true love stories, like romances, and can appreciate more than one story shared in a book.
