The Senior Movie Review 1

About The Senior Movie

At 59, Mike Flynt might be too old to play college football—but not too old to settle unfinished business. Nearly forty years after leaving his team, he returns to his alma mater to face the moment that changed everything. Bruised, doubted, and nearly broken, he fights for one last game—not for glory, but for the teammates he lost, the family he fractured, and the ending he still believes is possible.

My Review of The Senior Movie

The Senior Movie Review 2

I did not expect to truly like this movie, but I did. I expected this movie to be utterly stupid because of the wildness of having a 59-year-old man go back to college to fulfill his long-imagined dream of completing his Senior year of college playing football.

I’m forty-six and dealing with more pain than I ever imagined I would at my age. While I’m finally back to riding horses after a twenty-plus-year break from it, I am seeing just how out of shape I’ve become over the years. While dashing has made me a lot stronger, I am realizing how much I need to build on my leg and arm strength to continue this passion.

The Senior Movie Review 3

One of the primary messages this movie conveys is the importance of making the most of the time we are given and living in a way that leaves us with no regrets. I strive daily to do that, but not every decision that impacts my life is one that I make. So, I do the best to make the best decisions I can based on the life curveballs that keep getting thrown at me. I can only pray that one day my kids will understand my reasoning for everything I’ve ever done.

If I had the chance to redo many parts of my life, I’d make completely different choices. However, I am a firm believer that God knows what I’m going to do, and He has a plan for me.

Over the years, HE has been making it known little by little where he wants me to go. I believe I’m hearing him more fully lately, too.

One of the aspects that I loved about this movie is how they showcased Mike’s wife supporting him. While she didn’t fully grasp his reasoning for undertaking this mission, she trusted and believed in him. She supported him completely. Her support helped the family mend broken fences in their relationship.

The Senior Movie Review 4

Mike’s journey to be a famous 59-year-old football player wasn’t easy. But he felt that his mission was bigger than himself. In many ways, it truly became that. I would be lying if I stated that this movie didn’t impact me as well.

The fact that The Senior movie is based on a true story makes it even more compelling to watch. It is safe to say I highly recommend you and your family watch this movie.
