Our family has been in the video game world for as long as I can remember. Del has been a gamer ever since the first PC game came out. We have owned every video game system that has ever came out. As a result our kids have grown up playing video games of all kinds. When we were offered the opportunity to review TruPlay’s Christian Video Games for kids we were thrilled!

About TruPlay Video Games for Christians

Play faith-filled allegorical games in the RhymVerse. Our heroes face many of the same struggles as today’s children and use Biblical themes such as prayer, faith, truth, and God’s miracles to fight their battles.
TruPlay has created several different games that are similar to many popular games. Currently, there are eight (8) games available to play. You can obtain a subscription with a monthly cost is $12.99 or an annual fee is $119.99.

Our Review of TruPlay Christian Video Games

As I mentioned, my kids have been playing video games almost from the womb because my husband has always been an avid gamer. I can remember my husband giving our kids PlayStation remotes as babies while he had them in his care. It used to bug the tar out of me because I didn’t grow up playing games. My life was spent outdoors as much as possible! Needless to say, gaming has been a huge part of my household.
I was personally thrilled to find out about TruPlay games! To be able to hand my children a set of games and have peace of mind knowing they won’t get hit with unapproiate ads, no in-app purchases, and NO CHATS in priceless to me. I have had so many issues with my kids ending up down unwanted rabbit holes on the web thanks to ads popping up or them talking to some rather unpleasant individuals.

TruPlay games offer entertainment. Zeva states that most of the games are extremely easy, and feels like they are my kind of game. Technically I can see her point of view because of the fact that there is a match 3 game, and a game similar to another game I have played in the past.
However, her favorite game is the Isabella’s Leap of Faith game. To her this was the most challenging game of the ones that are available now. She also likes how throughout the games there are little Bible verses shared.

Kids are always observing things we don’t even realize they see. For them to get the chance to see these Bible verses in a game format, I believe it helps them to relate to these verses in a more impactful manner.
These games are designed to help boost our kid’s self-esteem levels. Since my daughter suffers from this a lot, this is rather important to me. I need all the assistance I can gain in helping her to see how worthy she is of love.
There are new games and comics added to the TruPlay games app every month. So our kids have the chance to explore new things. This makes it worthwhile to maintain the subscription.

Lumi’s Words of Light opens up a world of God’s promises and blessings to the city and to the player. Unscramble the word puzzle and you will find that each word sheds new light on God’s everlasting and unconditional love for you.
While this isn’t per se my daughter’s favorite game I like how it’s a bit educational and it also showcases God’s promises and the love he has for us.
Overall, TruPlay has created a way for our kids to play in a safe wholesome environment. I do hope that they do come out with some more challenging games for my older kids. I believe Zeva would play it more if that happens.
