As a woman who aspires to change the world in some powerful way, I was eager to watch the Cabrini movie. I wanted to see how she made all the changes she made at a time when women didn’t hold the power they have now. I am always fascinated by hearing the powerful stories of women who have positively changed the world. I keep an eye on the women who are doing it in our time now.

My Cabrini Movie Review

Cabrini Movie Review 2

Cabrini was a bit hard for me to follow because I had to READ most of the movie. While I spend a lot of time reading, I am not an overly fast reader due to my dyslexia. So, it was a bit painful to watch this movie and stay on track with knowing what the hang was going on fully.

However, that didn’t stop me from being able to fully appreciate all that Cabrini did throughout this movie.  Cabrini was canonized in 1946 by Pope Pius XII and became the first American citizen to be named a saint. Four years later she was given the title of Patroness of  Immigrants. Over 34 years Cabrini established an astonishing 67 hospitals, orphanages, and schools. Her energy was fueled by an intense focus on serving Jesus in whatever he asked of her and her legacy still stands today.

I loved how throughout the Cabrini movie she never waivered on what her mission was to complete. She was adamant that her calling was to provide a better home for the children. They deserved “more than rats got.” She didn’t relent until she made a difference in the lives around her.

Most women will not take no for an answer on things that they are passionate about pursuing. Cabrini went to great lengths to ensure she got the answers she wanted. She didn’t let her health or anything else stop her.

Cabrini is a wonderful story about a woman who transformed many lives around her. It also showed just how powerful ONE person can be when they rally for the right support. I’m finding it quite remarkable how much I’m seeing that message being presented to me in various forms.

I’m starting to wonder if I’m missing a message that is in all of this for me. Not that I feel overly powerful or that I have some big movement within me yet. But I do feel like something is brewing with me. Who knows! I’d be completely honored to see God use me to help positively shape someone’s life.

Cabrini is a movie worth watching. It is a bit slow in my opinion but I think that may be because I struggle to read through the sections that required it.

    • A good chunk of the movie was in a foreign language. I’d say at least half of it was that way. Which had I been a bit prepared for that, I would have watched it at a different time. It is still a good movie.

  1. I received a free ticket worth $8. Was surprised how well done it was early on. Enough to be teary-eyed a few times. Love history.
