I strived to read more books in 2022. I found many new top authors to savor reading and I’m confident I’ll make time to read more of their work in the future. It is my hope that you’ll leave this post with new authors for you to add to your to-read list.
My Top Author Picks for 2022
Kiersten Modglin
I don’t typically pick up a thriller book to read. Then I ended up reading the Arrangement novels series in one week. The Arrangement series is a thriller with more twists and turns than one would ever expect to read in a three-book set.
Then after I read that series since her writing impressed me so much, I ended up devouring The Mother-in-Law and then The Dream Job.
I’d have an extremely hard time picking out just ONE of her books that I liked the most. However, each one kept me engaged from the beginning to the end! I couldn’t read them fast enough to get my answers.
Meghan Quinn
This book was a book full of many different stories in one. However, Meghan did an outstanding job of making it so the reader could easily keep up with all the various stories.
Alicia Hunter Pace
Alicia is a wonderful small town writer who knows how to make her readers feel like they are part of the community. I love it when I can feel like I made a “friendship” with the characters in a series such as the Sweet Gone South series.
Tracy Brown
I picked up this book because the title caught my attention. And this book was AMAZING! Be sure to read my full review: here!
Collen Hoover
Reminders of Him was my first Colleen Hoover book, but I’m confident it won’t be my last. She is a talented writer! A lot of people have read her Verity book, but that is only on my to-read list.
Mary Katherine Backstrom
I may have been given the Crazy Joy Finding Wild Happiness in a World That’s Upside Down book to review. This past year has been hell on earth for me due to tons of medical tests and no solid answers on what is physically wrong with me. Plus, we lost my brother-in-law due to cancer. And it’s been a rough year financially speaking. But I have to say it was a book that helped remind me the way to see and capture joy back in my life.
Taylor Jenkins Reid
I didn’t write a full book review of this book. But that definitely wasn’t because this book didn’t stick with me. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo book was not what I was expecting at all!
The whole reason why Evelyn Hugo had to marry so many men was because of her concerns about what society had to say about her and her true love. It certainly provided a different perspective on having the right to marry the person I loved most in this world.
It was a long book, but it was one I made time to read in a short period of time because I wanted to see her relationship finally work out.
To some very small extent I can understand why Evelyn did what she did all throughout this book. I was forbidden to date my husband for a long time, and hid our relationship from so many people. I, in turn, made tons of similar mistakes that Evelyn did. Our relationship endured sixteen years of hell as a result.
So, this book made me cry, laugh, and rejoice. While I didn’t have society telling me it was wrong for me to love my husband, but my mom was against us being together due to our age differences.
Conclusion:
These have been my top authors for 2022. I can’t wait to see what authors get added to my list for 2023.

I just started reading Taylor Jenkins Reid books this year too and have enjoyed most of them… I also like Colleen Hoovers books but find they can be hit or miss for me. I can’t wait to check out some of the other authors you’ve mentioned!

I haven’t actually read any books by these authors, but I’ve been seeing Collen Hoover’s books recommended all the time, so I should give one of her books a go. Also, I’m intrigued by The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, and I love thrillers so I should check out Kiersten Modglin’s books.
Oh if you love thrillers and haven’t dived into Kiersten’s world, I promise you won’t be disappointed. She has YET to fail me on any of her books. I swear I think I’ve become obsessed with her books lately. (I don’t typically do that with an author.)

I’m intrigued by the thrillers you mentioned. I love watching thriller TV shows but I haven’t read a thriller novel in a while. Perhaps I’ll mix it up this year and add The Dream Job to the reading list as well!
If you love her already, then you will definitely appreciate this book a good bit. It was an eye-opening book and I read it at the right time in my life.

I started my TJR journey with Evelyn Hugo and loved loved loved it! Still one of my favorite books of all time. I may reread it in the future and I rarely do that lol and yesss to colleen hoover!!
That’s interesting that you loved that book so much. Of course, I can’t disagree it had tons of things to ponder within it. I have so much more I could say about that book, but it’s hard for me to put what all it makes me think about into words.

Currently reading ‘The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo’. I do like how the story is told. And sometimes I have to remind myself the character is fictional, that I wouldn’t find her if I googled her.
Oh my goodness, you made me laugh because I had to remind myself of this detail A LOT while reading this book too. In fact, I did actually look her up.
That story was such an amazing read and provided sooooo many emotions within me.
