About The Secret of the Hidden Scrolls Books
The Secret of the Hidden Scrolls Book One The Beginning is a book about how Peter, Mary, and their dog, Hank, go on adventures through time to learn how the world was created. The kids end up watching as the Earth is made. They have to solve the secret of the scroll in order to be taken back to our current time. If they don’t do it in time then they are stuck in the past forever.
The Secret of the Hidden Scrolls Book Two Race to the Ark is the second book in this series. In this book, Peter, Mary, and Hank travel back to time to witness the story of Noah. They have to help Noah with the ark. They have to solve the secret scroll before the floodwaters come, can they do it?
Like I said, I had Delbert read these books. As you can see from his review above, he considers this book to be “one of the best books I have ever read.” He gave it a 5-star review. By the way, we got the book report template from homeschoolgiveaways.com.
This series is designed for young kids that are able to read at a third-grade level and higher. Delbert reads at a fourth-grade level and found some of the words a bit tricky. Although, when I skimmed through the book, I really didn’t see that many hard words in it.
I feel the storylines of these books are strong. Delbert could relate to the story because the main characters were drawn to look like they were close to the same age as him. The stories do not give a lot of excess fluff and boring details. Yet, at the same time, it gives enough details to paint a clear picture of what is being described.
The images throughout the book may be small, but they are full of details. They make it so that the reader can easily envision what is happening. They may not be colorful and bright, but that encourages my child to look at them more closely.
Overall, I would highly recommend these books to your kids. Each book is suggested to be sold for $6.99 a piece. You can buy them on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
