Typing is a skill set that I feel that many people should have given the fact that we use computers daily in our lives. I have been on the hunt for a great program to help teach my kids how to type. Then I found KidzType and TypingDojo thanks to being introduced to them by the iHomeschool Network.
About KidzType/Typing Dojo
KidzType was created as a way for kids to learn how to type in a step-to-step fun engaging manner. This system will teach your child how to type without looking at their hands. It will help them to learn how to master the art of hand coordination with their fingers on the keyboard.
By using this program with your children, it will help them to be better prepared to be competitive in the workforce. They will learn how to type faster and more accurately rather than watching their fingers as they type.

One thing that people comment on about me quite often is my ability to type at a rapid speed. I’ve always brushed it off because to me I’ve become extremely slower since my car accident in 2016 destroying my left middle finger. However, it seems I’ve still maintained a decent typing speed ratio.
I know that my typing skills have helped me stand out among some of my peers who I’ve competed against on many different jobs. It helps me to be able to gather information quickly. It has certainly opened many different doors for me as a career.
My kids have had a lot of fun using KidzType and TypingDojo. KidzType has simple to use lessons that aren’t overly time-consuming. That certainly helps a lot when your attention span is the size of a pea! It has made it, so my kids don’t dread taking the time to learn this new skill. The games on this site have certainly enhanced the boys’ desire to do it.
The certificates off of TypingDojo are fun to earn. It’s nice to gain recognition for a job well done even if it is from a computer-generated system. I know it’s something nice to showcase how much farther you’ve come from the beginning of the course to the end of it.
I personally feel that because this is a FREE program it is something that everyone should take the time to take advantage of using. It’s got a childlike feel to it, but it’s not overwhelmingly made for a child. So, I have noticed that even my older kids don’t mind using it to learn by! I feel the bright colors and easy to follow directions make it ideal for all kinds of learners.
