Most people are happy to go through life feeling less than their best, and will never really address anything they know they are doing that is affecting their health in a negative way. It’s much easier to bury your head in the sand, but that doesn’t mean you should do it. Ask yourself the following health questions and see if they wake you up:
How Often Do You Exercise?
Exercise should be a part of everybody’s routine. How often are you exercising? Many things count as exercise, from hardcore gym class sessions to walking for 30 minutes per day. It’s a good idea to exercise every day, even if only for a short while. If you’re pretty much sedentary most of the day and don’t go out of your way to enjoy any intense exercise, you can bet that you’re compromising your health. Even people who go to the gym but don’t make an effort to hit the recommended 8000-10,000 steps per day are putting their health at risk.
Do You Get 10 Portions Of Fruit And Veg Per Day?
Yep, the recommended amount of fruit and veg portions per day is now at 10. It may sound like a lot, but if you have a decent amount of vegetables with each meal and a couple of fruit snacks per day (you should be consuming more veg than fruit) you could easily hit this target. Your diet doesn’t have to be perfect, but if you’re eating mostly beige food, you’re putting yourself at risk of all kinds of illness and diseases in the long term.
How Often Do You Cook Fresh Food For Yourself?
Cooking fresh food for yourself isn’t just good for yourself, it’s an act of self-care. It’s an indication of how important you are to yourself. Making yourself fresh, hearty salads, soups, and stir fry’s are so easy and healthy. If you’re always getting takeout, eating ready-made meals, or simply putting things in the oven, you’re not preserving your health like you should be.
Do You Have Insurance?
Health insurance is so important, especially later on in life when you have dependents. If you’re not taking care of your health, it becomes even more important to take out insurance. Look at Medicare plan information to get an idea of what you may need to get to protect yourself and your loved ones in the long term. Failing to take out insurance can be a big gamble that leaves you without any money.
How Do You Feel About Yourself On A Day To Day Basis?
Be honest: do you feel vibrant and full of life, or do you feel lethargic, and not quite your best? Just because you aren’t sick yet, or don’t feel terrible right now, doesn’t mean you can’t make improvements. When you eat right, exercise, and care for yourself on a regular basis, you’ll feel so much happier day to day. The feeling can become addictive, so although it may be the polar opposite of your lifestyle now, it won’t be hard to stay in the habit!
Change your life today or you may be met with huge hospital bills and terrifying illnesses in the future.
