Today’s theme is crazy health advice for the Friday Frivolity (#FridayFrivolity) party. I had a long list of crazy health advice to share with you, but after having a couple of days of pure sickness none of them sound even remotely appealing to use right now.

Crazy Health Advice: Diet Style

I can remember being told to eat nothing but grapefruit and water and I’d lose a lot of weight. Which I did this fad and did lose weight.

I also tried the ole’ laxative scheme along with living on nothing but soups and water. I did this one and lost weight.

I have reduced my calorie intake down to 500 calories a day. I’ve done this one too and yes, I lost weight.

Over the years, I’ve tried many different diet trends. I have lost weight, but quickly gained it all back. That’s because those were NOT lifestyle changes that could withstand the test of time. The best dieting advice I can say that will work long term is to eat the required amount of calories your body needs to survive BASED OFF YOUR physical activity level. Plus, also drink loads of water. Also, include exercise into your weekly routine.

If that doesn’t work after a steady regiment of at least three months with no solid improvements, then it is time to go see a doctor because there may be an underlining issue that you may not beware of. It’s far better to get it checked out sooner rather than later! If you don’t take any other advice from me be sure to take this bit of advice!!

    • It is hard to stop “trying” everything when you’re trying to lose weight. This is especially true when everyone/everything around you makes you feel guilty for not being skinny. This is especially true when nothing works.
